taking flight

Umbrella Prints first brought out Bird in Paradise in 2008.  With an impossibly intricate repeat, an allover lace-like pattern, imaginary birds in an illustrated leafy wilderness we could not find anything like it on the market.

Nearly two years later we have started getting emails, phone calls, a publisher and magazine photo shoot requests for Bird in Paradise.  We are so glad we kept faith in this design.

A new short run has just arrived in colours Bambi, Flamingo and Olive hand screen printed onto our custom made natural organic hemp/cotton. It is available as meterage and in 50cm x 60cm pieces in both our online shops and at Nest Studio now.

  1. I just made 2 organic aprons using Bird of Paradise for the pockets. I always liked the print, but somehow this week I fell in love. I guess it's one that grows on you.
