Here are our 10 chosen finalists super congratulations!
We would like to thank every entrant in this years Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition.
Please take the time to look at all of the beautiful work by more than 50 entrants that arrived in Umbrella Prints' Flickr group this year.
The competition...what can you make from Umbrella Prints Trimmings?
We were looking for creativity, beauty and for entrants that use their own skills to highlight the latent potential within even the smallest pieces of our fabric.

ReplyDeleteAll the entrants have done such a fabulous job but Carla Madrigal gets my vote! Gorgeous embroidery, amazing detail and a completely different interpretation - so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteThey are all so amazingly wonderful, it's so hard to pick, but I think my fave are the cute characters from Pop-i-cok so lovely and I have a thing for Bee's! But All the 10 finalists are ace! so many talented people! inspirational!:)

Definitely casting my vote for nova! She made so many things and yet they nothing seems like it needs more. She made those prints sing! Second place for Carla Madrigal. Her work is amazing and I love her stitches

ReplyDeleteI give my precious vote to pop-i-cok.The little creations are so individual and happy and hearted,and chewable for teething babies,and.. and.. and.. but I found things Iiked about each finalist's work, that's why i cheekily asked if I could vote ten times. Flamehair deserves a vote for her practical use of the trimmings, the 'A' is admirable : the intricate embroidery is stunning, the cushion and co.are........ I could go on but all in all excellent choices for the 10 finalists.

ReplyDeleteMy vote is for NOVA. I LOVE how she has used up every tiny piece of her gorgeous prints-pack. I love too, that she has designed a range of sewing-goodies that marry together so well, and that she is able to use every day while she is sewing - so very clever.

I love Moon Ica's stuff, and I think Nest should seriously stock the A pillow, the sparrow and the little owls, but I think Nova's creations are practical and quite gorgeous. The grey fabric with the trimmings looks great. Your competition exposed some scarily talented people. Get onto them all and stock the products!! x
