2014 Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition

It's here folks! Competition time has arrived and we are proud to announce that it is our fifth year running! This is a unique competition where we challenge you to create something different and wonderful from the little pieces of our printed fabric we call Trimmings. We are looking for innovative, beautiful, creative, well presented and amazing work by designers, artists, quilters, makers, tinklers, filmers, animators, children, professionals, thinkers and YOU.

This years special industry guest judges are ... drum roll please ......

Luisa Brimble (Designer/Photographer) from Alphabet Family Journal
Jenni Draper (Art Director) from Green Magazine
Anna Graham (Crafter/Blogger) from Noodlehead
Elise Joy Blaha Cripe (Crafter/Blogger) from enJoy it

Over the next couple of weeks we are going to bring to you the stories and works of these four creative women who come from such amazing diverse backgrounds, a feast for the heart, mind and eyes.  We are so honored to have them all on board to help us pick a Judge's Choice winner.

AND to celebrate your wonderful efforts this year the Judge's prize is fabric AND $500 cash! 

AND how fun would it be to find a Golden ticket in your Trimmings packet? We will be slipping shining golden tickets into 5 lucky packets (ticket holders receive an Umbrella Prints prize valued at $50)

AND to celebrate the skills of the quilting community we have a new Quilters Category and prize!

AND a People's Choice Prize

So what can you make with Umbrella Print's Trimmings?
HOW DO I ENTER THE COMPETITION
It's really simple
1. Buy your Umbrella Prints Trimmings from Etsy and our online shop
2.
A Take two photos // 1. Your Trimmings packet with it's brown paper packaging 2. What you make
B Publish these photos to the internet // share & tell your story linking to Umbrella Prints.
C Email Umbrella Prints with a link to where you have shared your photos (we will then pin them to the Umbrella Prints Pinterest Competition board)
D Share with all your friends and followers what you have created so that they can vote for you!

3. Make/Do something wonderful from that one packet (one packet per entry)
4. Then, upload your gorgeous photos to a social media platform: blog, Instagram, Flickr, a friends blog or website etc (please note we wont be able use images from Facebook, private Instagram or locked Flickr pics!)
5. Email us umbrellaprints@yahoo.com.au with the URL to tell us you have uploaded images to your chosen online site by Friday May 30 9:00am (Adelaide Australian UTC/GMT +9:30 hours)
6. on May 30 WE WILL PIN your pics TO OUR 2014 COMPETITION BOARD ON PINTEREST 
7. Between the 1st and the 5th of June (Adelaide Australian UTC/GMT +9:30 hours)  come visit this year's Pinterest competition board to see what amazing things have been made by our entrants.  Make a comment on one or on a few favourites it's your choice (Only one comment per image)
8. The person with the most comments (one per person) in our 2014 Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition board will be the People's Choice WINNER!
9. The person who gets the most industry judge votes will be our big WINNER!

People's Choice Prize
$200 Umbrella Prints organic fabric package
Everyone gets to have their vote a little later and to help get things rolling when the time comes this prize is awarded to the entry with the most individual comments from the 2014 Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition board.
